Relaxation Technique #1

This funny-sounding technique was discovered by ancient yogis and recently given credence by scientific findings on the nasal cycle. Alternate Nostril Breathing brings your nervous system into balance and promotes calm. And it only takes a couple minutes!

Repeat the following 3-step cycle for 2 minutes:

1. Close your right nostril with a finger and inhale through your left nostril for 4 seconds. 

2. Immediately close your left nostril while opening your right nostril and exhale through this nostril for 6 seconds.

3. Inhale through your right nostril for four seconds. Close your right nostril with your right thumb and exhale through the left nostril for eight seconds. This completes one cycle.
